In our award-winning physical medicine and rehabilitation services, board-certified physiatrists work alongside physical and occupational therapists to treat a full range of orthopedic, neurological, neuromuscular and vascular conditions in people of all ages. ICD’s doctors and therapists have extensive experience helping individuals with traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, post-polio and post-surgical needs.

ICD’s professionals can reduce or eliminate many physical and functional problems without surgery. These include acute and chronic pain, arthritis and rheumatism, balance and gait difficulties, neuropathy, musculo-skeletal disorders, post-operative hip and knee problems, and post-stroke conditions.

Our physicians and occupational therapists work with patients to order, fit, and train them in orthopedic adaptive devices, braces, and electric and manual wheelchairs. The ICD physical and occupational gym is one of the largest in NYC.

ICD’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center is a vital training program for medical interns from the major medical schools and teaching hospitals in the greater New York area.
