ImageAt ICD’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinic in P.S. 146 (a barrier-free, accessible elementary school in East Harlem), our bilingual and bicultural clinicians:

  • Provide services to the PreK to 5th grade students attending P.S. 146 whose mental health needs might not otherwise get addressed.
  • Keep children out of special education or improve their adjustment to special education.
  • Facilitate better academic performance.
  • Stabilize families.

The clinic's services include evaluation, individual counseling, family counseling, group counseling, crisis intervention, medication management, and healthcare education and prevention.  We work closely with inpatient units in area hospitals when emergency hospitalization is required and facilitate discharge transitions back to our clinic.

ICD’s P.S. 146 program is a resource for the whole family.  Our social workers address family housing and health problems and refer parents to literacy classes, GED preparation classes, and job training programs, when needed.

For information about this program please call 212-966-6127.
