MITCHELL CENTER FOR WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT Building Maintenance Instructor (Part Time) Teach adults the basics of Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting, Flooring, Wall/Ceiling Repair, Electrical, Janitorial/Floor Maintenance, Lock/Hardware Installation, Air Sealing/Weatherization and Work Place Safety (i.e. OSHA/MSDS Tapes and brief lectures) A minimum of two years verifiable experience in the building maintenance field and experience in teaching adult learners. Knowledge in Weatherization and Air Sealing a plus. BPI- Multifamily Building, Envelop and Professional Building Operator Certifications also a plus. Instructor: Documents Management Training Program Develop, coordinate and provide ongoing instruction for an adult workforce development program. Capacity to engage adult learners from diverse backgrounds, most of whom have low levels of education and limited work histories and teach ‘soft skills’ as well as concrete skills. A minimum of two years of verifiable work experience in the field preferably in a supervisory capacity specializing in electronic document management (scanning/indexing operations) Contacts in the industry and personal experience/understanding of the job paths (entry-level to more advanced positions) within this field with ability to translate that to relevant work-based training. Teach basics (office procedures; customer service; teamwork; attentiveness to detail and instructions; workplace interpersonal skills; basic computer skills; use and care of photocopiers and other office equipment) to more electronic document management specific topics in a work-based environment with live projects (quality control and assurance; documents preparation; indexing/scanning/imaging; applicable database PC applications; confidentiality & information security). BA in relevant field is required. Two years of verifiable work experience in the industry is required. Prior experience with trade/vocational schools, teaching and/or supervising entry level workers highly preferred.
